La mission :

The World Union of wholesale markets (WUWM) is a non-profit association that aims to promote worldwide the role of wholesale markets in ensuring food security and healthy diets. WUWM is a unique platform that gathers more than 180 wholesale markets around the world where they can exchange information on wholesale and retail markets aiming to improve their structure, organization and management. We pursue sustainability, accessibility to healthy diets and the enhancing of small and medium producers' access to the market through the reinforcement of the wholesale sector's role in the food chain.

The WUWM also seeks to improve the general knowledge of these structures and their role. We work hand in hand with local authorities and international organizations ( FAO, WHO..) and international NGOs promoting fresh food, healthy diets, accessibility, gastronomy as intangible heritage of humanity.

We are looking for a recently graduate individual passionate about food security, fresh food accessibility, and fresh food logistics that will work under the supervision of WUWM Secretary General to establish cooperation with key players (EU institutions, FAO, WHO, World Bank, World Economic Forum..) public authorities, and relevant decision-makers.

Under the supervision of the Secretary-General the intern is expected to contribute to the WUWM through the work of the secretariat in organizing meeting with international institutions representatives and particularly EU institutions ( EC, MEPs), drafting reports, letters, proposals to international institutions, coordinating programs and actions with international institutions and bodies.

The intern will have to:

· Draft letters, reports, briefs, strategic and concept papers

· Elaborate comparative studies and proposals

Le profil :

· Elaborate content on WUWM's identity and objectives

· Make update reports on relevant debates, events and developments related to WUWM's areas of interest

· Keeping track of the European institution's agenda and other main international organizations

Qualifications

- The intern must have a master's degree in international relations, public affairs, political science, or another similar subject.

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English. Working knowledge of French or Spanish is a distinct advantage.
